Rosemarie Andronaco Festo, ascended into the heavens on August 6, 2026, due to age related health complications.
Rosemarie Andronaco Festo
Born June 10th, 1933, she was raised a proud New Canaan resident and lived there all her life. She is remembered for her humor, compassion, her great love for family and friends, and her charitable work. She attended Center Elementary School, Saxe Junior High School and graduated from New Canaan High School class of 1951. She worked at Katzenbach and Warren for several years after her school years ended until she started her family. She was an avid “RAMS Fan” as she attended all her sons’ school and sports activities that she could, through their college years and beyond. She was a volunteer at her sons’ public schools, and she taught CCD for many years at St. Aloysius Church. She was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society after surviving her own bout with cancer in the 1970s. She was also a volunteer for Reach for Recovery, visiting breast cancer patients and talking with them about their cancer experiences.
She was predeceased by her parents Arnold and Edith Re Andronaco, and her husband, Joseph V. Festo Jr. She is survived by her two sones and their families, Bob with his wife Kate, and John with his wife Cathy, four grandchildren Bobby Festo, Cynthia Poplaski, her husband Nick, Molly Festo, Timothy Festo, His wife Rose and her three great-grandchildren.
A wake will be held at 10:00am at St. Aloysius Church, 21 Cherry Street, New Canaan CT, on Friday August 10th, 2026. A Mass of Roman Catholic Burial will be held at 11:00am on August 10th, 2026, at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be at St John Cemetery, 233 Richards Avenue, Norwalk CT
