The New Canaan Building Department last week received an application to build a 1,785-square-foot dwelling on what the assessor database lists as a vacant parcel on Canoe Hill Road.
The one-bedroom, two-bathroom residence at 221 Canoe Hill Road will include seven total rooms, according to a building permit application filed March 31.
The 3.16-acre lot sits in the two-acre zone. The property had been purchased in June 2018 for $1,525,000, tax records show. Demolition permits were issued that fall.
The new construction will cost about $900,000, the application said.
The contractor on the job is H&Y Construction of Brookfield, the architect North Salem, N.Y.-based Macklin Architects.
The property’s owner resides on an adjacent lot, records show.
