Seminary Street Property Owner Applies for Building Permit for Two Homes

Following unanimous Special Permit and site plan approval by the Planning & Zoning Commission at its regular meeting in September, the town last week received an application to construct two residences on a Seminary Street lot where a single-family home had once stood. The five-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bath residences at 115 Seminary St. will include 2,281 and 2,331 square feet of living space, according to a building permit application field Oct. 13. They’ll cost about $550,000 apiece to build, according to the application, and the contractor and architect on the job is Anthony Tomas Builders are of Norwalk. 

Tomas himself is listed as a principal of the company that owns the .35-acre property on the corner of Scofield Lane, state records show.

New Homes Planned for West Road, Hillside Avenue

The New Canaan Building Department on Sept. 22 received two applications to construct new homes. 

A 5,249-square-foot home is planned for a 3.19-acre parcel in the two-acre zone at 279 West Road. It will include five bedrooms, five full bathrooms and two half-baths, according to the application. 

The contractor on the job is Westport-based Domus Constructors LLC, the  architect Norwalk-based Michael Smith Architects, the application said. The home will cost about $1.767,092 to build, it said. Sold for $1,375,000 in 2013, the property includes a 1959-built Colonial, tax records show.

New Construction Planned for Oenoke Ridge

A new 6,400-square-foot home is planned for a vacant lot on Oenoke Ridge. The four-bedroom home at 447 Oenoke Ridge will include four baths and one half-bath, according to a building permit application filed Aug. 10 with the town. It will cost about $1.3 million to build, the application said. A contractor for the job has not yet been selected, and the architect is Doug MacMillan of Ridgefield, it said.

New Construction Planned for Cedar Lane

A five-bedroom home is planned for a 1.68-acre lot on Cedar Lane, according to a building permit application received June 9. The 5,480-square-foot home at 270 Cedar Lane will include seven rooms and 1.5 baths on the first floor, and five bedroom on the second floor, including a master with a metal fireplace, according to the building permit application. 

It will cost about $750,000 to build, the application said, and the contractor is Ardsley, N.Y.-based Woodcrest Homes LLC. The home is designed by D. Peters Designs of Wilton. The property was purchased earlier this month for $610,000 by a limited liability company owned by residents of Long Island and Westchester County, N.Y. It has a 1956-built ranch-style home on the parcel now, tax records show.

New Construction Planned for Bank Street

A new 3,210-square-foot home is planned for a .21-acre lot at the corner of Bank Street and Brinckerhoff Avenue. The New Canaan Building Department on June 1 received an application to build the four-bedroom home at 46 Bank St. It will include a kitchen, mudroom, office and dining room, as well as a master bedroom with master bath and closet, according to the application. 

The home will cost an estimated $480,000 to build, the application said. The contractor on the job is New Canaan-based Sillo Construction LLC, the architect New Canaan-based Steven Lecher. The property had been sold for $1,150,000 last March together with an abutting parcel at 48 Bank St., tax records show.
