New Construction Planned for Ponus Ridge

The Building Department on Feb. 19 received an application to construct a 7,000-square-foot home on a vacant lot in western New Canaan. The six-bedroom house planned for 1211 Ponus Ridge will include five full bathrooms, two half-baths, four fireplaces, a finished basement and three-bay garage, according to a building permit application. 

It will cost about $1.5 million to build, the application said. The contractor on the job will be the property’s owner, it said. The property is owned by a limited liability company whose principal is the head of Woodcrest Homes, according to Connecticut Secretary of the State records. 

According to submitted plans, the architect is Ridgefield-based D. Peters Designs, LLC of Wilton.

The municipal Building Department on Feb. 13 received an application for a 5,380-square-foot house in southeastern New Canaan. The six-bedroom home planned for 15 Pocconock Trail will include six full bathrooms, one half-bath, three fireplaces, finished basement and attic and a three-bay garage. It will cost about $1,150,000, the building permit application said. The contractor on the job is New Canaan-based New Horizons Builders LLC, the architect Cartelli Design LLC of Newtown, it said.

New Construction Planned for Orchard Lane

The New Canaan Building Department last month received an application to build a 4,200-square-foot home on Orchard Lane. The six-bedroom house planned for 19 Orchard Lane will include six full bathrooms, one half-bath, one fireplace and a two-bay garage, according to the building permit application filed Nov. 7. It will include a 1,352-square-foot finished basement and 781-square-foot finished attic, the application said. The house will cost about $850,000 to build, it said. 

The contractor on the job is Lecher Development LLC, the architect Steven Lecher Associates LLC, both of New Canaan.

New Construction Planned for Smith Ridge Road

The New Canaan Building Department on Oct. 25 received an application for a 3,214-square-foot home on Smith Ridge Road. The new four-bedroom house at 624 Smith Ridge Road will include three full bathrooms, one half-bath, a two-car garage and unfinished basement and attic, according to the application. It will cost $1,190,000 to build, the application said. The contractor on the job is Bethel-based Westchester Modular Homes of Fairfield County CT LLC, the architect Westchester Modular Homes of Wingdale, N.Y.

The 5.01-acre property belongs to the Country Club of New Canaan, tax records show.
