Four-Townhouse Development Planned for South Avenue

The New Canaan Building Department between April 9 and 16 received applications to build four townhouses on South Avenue. Among the four townhouses planned for 116 South Ave., three will include four bedrooms and one will have three bedrooms, according to building permit applications. They each will include three full bathrooms (the four-bedroom units will additionally have a half-bath), a finished basement, fireplace and two-car garage—3,000 square feet of living space, according to building permit applications. One of the four-bedroom dwellings will be freestanding, according to the application. 

They’ll each cost $650,000 to build, the applications said. The contractor on the job is Sillo Construction LLC, they said, and the architect Steven Lecher Associates LLC, both of New Canaan.

New Construction Planned for Woodland Road

The New Canaan Building Department on April 6 received an application to build a 5,000-square-foot home on Woodland Road. The six-bedroom house planned for 111 Woodland Road also will include six full bathrooms, one half-bath, one fireplace, 1,200-square-foot finished basement and three-bay garage, according to the building permit application. 

It will cost about $1.1 million to build, the application said. The contractor on the job is New Canaan-based Cognetta Hoes LLC, the architect CMS Architects of Stamford. A demolition permit was issued April 4 for the 1926-built Cape on the .73-acre parcel. It was purchased for $2,050,000 in February by a limited liability company with the same address as the contractor, tax records show. 

New Townhouses Planned for Forest Street 

The New Canaan Building Department has received an application to construct a pair of 3,500-square-foot townhouses on a .32-acre Forest Street parcel. The new four-bedroom townhomes at 124 Forest St. will include three full bathrooms, one half-bath and a two-car garage, according to a building permit application filed Feb. 19. 

The property had an 1860-built two-family house, tax records show. A demolition permit was issued last month, according to building records. 

The structures will be located back-to-front beside each other, with one unit facing Forest Street.

New Construction Planned for Richards Lane

The New Canaan Building Department last week received an application for a 6,000-square-foot home on Richards Lane. The six-bedroom house planned for 68 Richards Ave. will include five full bathrooms, two half-baths, a finished attic with a 500-square-foot playroom and 3-bay garage, according to the building permit application, filed March 21. It will cost $1.8 million to build, the application said. The contractor on the job is Norwalk-based Able Construction Inc., the architect Chase Architectural Design of Trumbull.

New Construction Planned for Greenley Road

The New Canaan Building Department has received an application to build a 6,113-square-foot home on Greenley Road. The five-bedroom home planned for 277 Greenley Road will include five full bathrooms, one half-bath, three fireplaces, a finished basement that includes a craft room, wine room, gym and bath, and a three-bay garage, according to the building permit application, filed Feb. 5. 

It will cost $1.6 million to build, the application said. The contractor on the job is Barrington Homes 255 LLC of Westport, the architect Stamford-based Ro & Co Architecture LLC, it said. The vacant 2.46-acre property sold for $1,062,500, tax records show.
