New Construction Planned for Cedar Lane

A five-bedroom home is planned for a 1.68-acre lot on Cedar Lane, according to a building permit application received June 9. The 5,480-square-foot home at 270 Cedar Lane will include seven rooms and 1.5 baths on the first floor, and five bedroom on the second floor, including a master with a metal fireplace, according to the building permit application. 

It will cost about $750,000 to build, the application said, and the contractor is Ardsley, N.Y.-based Woodcrest Homes LLC. The home is designed by D. Peters Designs of Wilton. The property was purchased earlier this month for $610,000 by a limited liability company owned by residents of Long Island and Westchester County, N.Y. It has a 1956-built ranch-style home on the parcel now, tax records show.

New Construction Planned for Bank Street

A new 3,210-square-foot home is planned for a .21-acre lot at the corner of Bank Street and Brinckerhoff Avenue. The New Canaan Building Department on June 1 received an application to build the four-bedroom home at 46 Bank St. It will include a kitchen, mudroom, office and dining room, as well as a master bedroom with master bath and closet, according to the application. 

The home will cost an estimated $480,000 to build, the application said. The contractor on the job is New Canaan-based Sillo Construction LLC, the architect New Canaan-based Steven Lecher. The property had been sold for $1,150,000 last March together with an abutting parcel at 48 Bank St., tax records show.

New Construction Planned for Seminary Street 

The town on April 24 received an application to build a new two-unit modular home at 70 Seminary St., site of a 210-year-old residence. 

Each unit will include 2,300 square feet, according to the application, and will have three bedrooms and bathrooms as well as a garage. 

They’ll cost about $350,000 to build, according to the application. 

The contractor on the job is Stamford-based Fairfield Contractors, the architect Bethel-based Westchester Modular, the application said. The .27-acre property had been purchased for $680,000 in March, tax records show. It’s owned by a limited liability company whose principal lives in Oxford, according to records on file with the Connecticut Secretary of the State.

New Construction Planned for Canoe Hill Road

The New Canaan Building Department last week received an application to build a 1,785-square-foot dwelling on what the assessor database lists as a vacant parcel on Canoe Hill Road. The one-bedroom, two-bathroom residence at 221 Canoe Hill Road will include seven total rooms, according to a building permit application filed March 31. The 3.16-acre lot sits in the two-acre zone. The property had been purchased in June 2018 for $1,525,000, tax records show. Demolition permits were issued that fall.

New Construction Planned for Brinckerhoff Avenue

The town last week received an application to build a 3,210-square-foot house at the corner of Brinckerhoff Avenue and Route 106. 

The new four-bedroom home at 8 Brinckerhoff Ave., formerly 48 Bank St., will include a master bedroom and bath, according to the application, filed March 24 by a limited liability company whose principal is a New Canaan man, according to Connecticut Secretary of the State records. It will cost about $480,000 to build, the application said. The contractor on the job is New Canaan-based Sillo Construction LLC, and the architect is Steven Lecher of New Canaan, it said. According to tax records, 8 Brinckerhoff Ave. includes .2 acres, while an adjoining property at 46 Bank St., purchased one year ago by the same LLC, includes .21 acres.
