New Construction Planned for Skyview Lane

The New Canaan Building Department last week received an application for a 4,425-square-foot house on Skyview Lane. The four-bedroom home planned for 49 Skyview Lane will include three full bathrooms, a half-bath and 3-bay garage, as well as a 2,959-square-foot unfinished basement, according to the building permit application filed Sept. 4. 

It will cost about $2 million to build, the application said. The contractor on the job is Greenwich-based Hemingway Construction Corp, it said, the architect Burr Salvatore Architects of Darien. The 1.65-acre property was purchased in May for $1,950,000, tax records show.

New Construction Planned for Turtle Back Road South

The New Canaan Building Department on June 27 received an application for an 8,700-square-foot house on Turtle Back Road South. The six-bedroom home planned for 99 Turtle Back Road South will include 18 total rooms and a three-car garage, according to a building permit application. It will include five full bathrooms, two half-baths, four fireplaces and recreation and exercise rooms, the application said. It will cost about $1,050,000 to build, the application said. The contractor on the job is Jericho, N.Y.-based Woodcrest Homes LLC, the architect Dennis Peters Designs of Wilton.

New Construction Planned for Douglas Road

The New Canaan Building Department on Tuesday received an application to build a 4,007-square-foot home, with a 1,132-square-foot finished basement, on Douglas Road. The three-bedroom house planned for 59 Douglas Road will include three full bathrooms on the second floor, one full bathroom in the basement and a half-bath on the first floor, according to the building permit application. 

It will cost about $1.3 million to build, the application said. The contractor on the job is Coastal Luxury Homes of Westport, the architect James Schettino Architects of New Canaan, it said. The .27-acre property, including a 1947-built ranch-style house, was purchased last September for $1.1 million, tax records show. The town issued a demolition permit for that house in December. 

New Construction Planned for Woodland Road

The New Canaan Building Department on Monday received an application to build a new home on a .49-acre Woodland Road lot. The five-bedroom house at 150 Woodland Road will include four full bathrooms, two half-baths and a finished basement—13 rooms total, and a two-car garage, according the building permit application. 

It will cost about $1.3 million to build, the application said. The contractor on the job is New Canaan-based Cognetta Homes, the architect Tanner White Architects of Westport, it said. The property last was purchased in September for $1.4 million, tax records show. The new owner in January received a permit to demolish the 1952-built, 2,458-square-foot Cape on the property, according to town building records.

New Construction Planned for Rosebrook Road

The New Canaan Building Department last week received an application to build a 6,638-square-foot home on Rosebrook Road. The four-bedroom house at 250 Rosebrook Road will have 22 total rooms, including five full bathrooms and two-half baths, according to the application, filed Feb. 27. It also will include a fireplace and attached three-car garage, the application said. The home will cost about $1,315,900 to build, it said.
