When two males carrying a street sign and its pole at 2 a.m., Friday at the intersection of Richmond Hill Road and Grove Street saw police, they dropped the item of town property and ran off, police said.
Police saw them, too. That resulted in police recovering the sign and pole, but not the two males who had taken it. The pole actually carried two street signs — for Richmond Hill Road and Park Street, and had been taken from that intersection.
The two males ran off toward Mead Park. A search for them was unsuccessful.
