Police on Aug. 9 arrested a 21-year-old Bridgeport woman and charged her with driving under the influence.
At about 11:30 p.m. that Sunday, an officer stopped the woman as she drove the wrong way down Elm Street, according to a police report.
In a subsequent stop, the officer found signs of impairment in the driver, the report said.
After administering field sobriety tests, police charged her with the misdemeanor offense, it said.
At headquarters, she provided two breath samples to establish her blood-alcohol level, with results of .234 and .230, police said — both nearly three times the legal limit.
She additionally was cited for driving the wrong way down a one-way street.
Police released the woman on $300 bond and scheduled her to appear Aug. 19 in state Superior Court.
