Holiday Open House at the New Canaan Historical Society

The annual New Canaan Historical Society Holiday Open House will be held Saturday, December 5 from 10:00 AM- 4 PM. There will be fun activities for the whole family.
Children can make their own gingerbread houses at the Gingerbread Workshop from 10:00 AM-1:30 PM and 3:00-4:00 PM. The cost is $5/house. There will also be a Wild West Mystery Show performed by the entertaining WonderSpark Puppets at 2:00 PM. Admission is $5/person.
A Victorian Tea complete with sandwiches and sweets will be served from 12:00-3:00 PM. The price is $12/adults and $6/children under 12. Unique New Canaan themed gifts will also be on sale.
A Winter’s Tale Costume Exhibit opens from 10:00 AM-4:00 PM, featuring winter apparel from the late 1800’s to the early 1900’s. In addition, From the Archives: D. Putnam Brinley, is on exhibit showing the works of the talented local artist. D. Putnam Brinley was an impressionist and mural painter who, with his wife Katherine Gordon Sanger Brinley, were leaders in the Silvermine community. Both were listed in “Who’s Who in American History, 1961-1968.”
