Police on Wednesday night arrested a 20-year-old Stamford man on drug and forgery charges after finding marijuana gear and a fake ID in his car during a traffic stop.
At about 10:07 p.m., an officer saw a car traveling southbound on South Avenue with a defective light around the license plate, according to a police report.
After stopping the car, the officer approached and was presented with a valid Connecticut license, the report said. The officer also spotted a New Jersey license in the motorist’s wallet that turned out to be fake, the report said.
After searching the car, the officer found a silver marijuana grinder, it said.
Police charged the motorist with third-degree forgery and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was released after promising to appear March 22 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
