Police arrested a 55-year-old Wilton man on a drunk driving charge Thursday evening after his vehicle became disabled on Jelliff Mill Road.
At about 6:33 p.m., officers arrived in the area of Jelliff Mill at Shady Knoll Lane and determined that the man had steered the car so that it struck a curb and damaged the right front tire, according to a police report. In speaking to the man, officers smelled alcohol and administered field sobriety tests, which he failed, the report said.
The man refused to submit to a breath test, the report said.
He was charged with driving under the influence.
Police released the man on $250 bond and scheduled him to appear May 31 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
