Man, 20, Charged in Theft of Wooden Bear at Mobil Station

Police on June 12 arrested a 20-year-old Greenwich man and charged him with sixth-degree larceny.

At about 2:17 p.m. on June 10 officers were dispatched to the Mobil station downtown on a report of a theft that had occurred the prior night, according to police.

A wood carved bear had been stolen from the gas station, police said.

Following an investigation, officers established probable cause to charge the man for the misdemeanor offense, police said.

He was released after promising to appear June 27 in state Superior Court.
