Police on Oct. 7 arrested a 54-year-old Norwalk man and charged him with third-degree forgery.
At about 4:33 p.m. that Saturday, an officer on patrol stopped a car that had an expired registration, according to a police report.
The stop occurred in the area of Route 123 and Shaker Road, the report said.
Through an investigation, police learned that the license plate was counterfeit, it said.
The man was additionally cited for operating an unregistered motor vehicle and falsifying a marker plate.
He was released after promising to appear Oct. 13 in state Superior Court. Connecticut Judicial Branch records show that the man has not yet pleaded or found representation. He’s scheduled to appear again Oct. 19.
