Charles Wright, 86

Charles David Wright of New Canaan, CT died peacefully at Bridges by EPOCH in Norwalk on Thursday morning, December 12, 2024. He was 86 years old. Born on April 1, 1938, to Percy Charles Wright and Lylah Fisch Wright in Pittsburg, CA, he was predeceased by his brother and his sister, Richard and Janet Wright. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Deborah McCormick Wright, his son David and his wife Catherine Wang of Walnut Creek, CA, his daughter Eleanor of Brighton, MA, his granddaughters Keilah and Sophie Wright, and many loving family members and friends. 

After graduating from Pittsburg High School, he attended UC Davis and UC Berkeley and served briefly in the US Marine Corps. His career path took him from Sacramento to Philadelphia where he worked for National Drug Company, a subsidiary of Richardson-Vicks, Chuck crisscrossed the globe, building relationships, collecting coins, dolls, flags and beer cans for his kids, and overseeing the company’s Human Resources function throughout Latin American the Far East.

Linda Carmell Andros, 76

January 23,1948 – December 12, 2024

Linda Andros died on December 12, 2024, at home surrounded by love with her family. She died following a short illness after a brave struggle. The daughter of Plato and Florene Andros, she was born January 23,1948 in Norman, Oklahoma. Her father was a professional football player in the early years of the National Football League and later worked in the oil industry, and her mother was a homemaker. As a child Linda won prizes in piano competitions and was a skilled piano player and singer her entire life.

Frank E. Grzelecki, 87

Frank E. Grzelecki, a longtime New Canaan resident, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones on November 29, 2024. He was 87. 

Born and raised in Schenectady, NY, Frank was the son of Edward and Lena Grzelecki. He attended Gettysburg College and met Jean Nissley, his lifelong friend and wife of sixty-five years. After serving in the Army, they raised their two daughters, Sharon and Deborah, in East Greenwich, RI and Princeton, NJ before moving to New Canaan in 1985. 

Frank held executive positions with Colgate Palmolive, Textron, Lenox Inc., Brown Foreman Corp., Beatrice Companies, Inc. and Handy & Harman. He also served as a member of the Board of Directors of numerous companies during his business career. 

Frank enjoyed boating and fishing.

Madeline Carey Kelley, 82

Madeline Carey Kelley, 82, of Darien, CT, formerly of New Canaan, CT passed away on October 28, 2024. 

Madeline is predeceased by her beloved husband, Mark Emmett Kelley of 56 years, and is survived by her five children, seventeen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; Mark & Anne Kelley of Wellesley, MA – Ryan, Meghan, Lauren and Owen Kelley; Carey (Kelley) & Paul Stenberg of Needham, MA – Kelley and (husband) John Walsh and daughter, Rosie Walsh, William and (wife) Leah and son, William Stenberg, Madeline, Thomas and Michael Stenberg; Matthew & Maggie Kelley of Norwalk, CT – Sarah, Maura, and Matthew Kelley; Jason & Kerrie Kelley of Darien, CT – Jack and Campbell Kelley; Jennifer (Kelley) & Kevin Hogan of Ridgewood, NJ – Kathryn, Timothy, and Elizabeth Hogan. Madeline was born on March 25, 1942 in Lynn, MA and was the older of two daughters to William Carey, Esq. (deceased) and Madeline Linnehan Carey (deceased). Madeline is survived by her younger sister, Kathleen Carey Smith. Madeline was born and raised in Swampscott, MA and graduated from Swampscott High School.

Ellen J. Ross, 87

There are some who bring a light so great into the world that even after they have gone, the light remains. Ellen Ross was one of those people. Ellen J. Ross, 87, passed away on October 21, 2024, at Norwalk Hospital. Ellen was a resident of New Canaan for 46 years before moving to Fairfield in 2014, and then to Norwalk in 2023. Ellen is predeceased by her husband, John W. Ross, and her parents, August Jandovitz, and Ellen (Crowe) Jandovitz.
