The town on Thursday issued a building permit for a restaurant renovation at 15 Elm St.
The $55,000 renovation at the former Picador space will involve moving the bar to the opposite side of the floor, opening a wall into the kitchen and replacing tables, according to the permit. The new restaurant is to be owned and operated by Nick Martschenko of South End, and will serve as an extension of and complement to that successful brand. One possible name for the new restaurant is South End Uncorked, and Martschenko has said it will be “heavily beveraged.” He’s applying for a liquor permit.

He’s one patriarch of a prominent family in town, and as a very young boy he saw Abraham Lincoln pass through Norwalk on a train. Want to know more?
