Jean Grzelecki

David Rucci, a New Canaan-based land use attorney, during the March 26 special meeting of the Planning & Zoning Commission, said a few words about Jean Grzelecki, a longtime member of the appointed body who passed away March 13. “I just wanted to say something on the record: She was a very special person, I thought, for this Commission,” he said. “This is known as the hardest-working Commission in town, because of people like her who would volunteer for everything. She was always prepared for everything. I remember her being on all of these subcommittees. Nobody wanted to do that job, but she did … I wanted to recognize her. I appreciate all the work that she helped me with when I was a young attorney. She would ask tough questions but she would always kind of give a little smirk and smile, and I used to love to watch her on the board when someone would say something , even a fellow commissioner, she just gave a look.”
