In eviction papers filed Aug. 21 in state Superior Court, a New Canaan man is seeking to evict two grown kids from a house in town, identifying the following as a “Serious Nuisance” in a Notice To Quit Possession: “A. Willfully showing disrespect to their father (who owns the property) and [one of them] spit in his face during a visit to the house. B. The house during their time of occupancy has been totally destroyed during violent outbursts of fighting. The furniture has also been trashed and a number of cats have been allowed to run wild, soiling the premises.” In a formal answer to the complaint, one defendant said, in part, in listing reasons that eviction is not warranted: “Simply because it is my right.”
