Police late Friday arrested a 32-year-old Norwalk woman and charged her with driving under the influence.
At about 11:55 p.m. on Nov. 22, an officer saw a vehicle drift over the centerline and into the oncoming traffic lane while traveling northbound on Route 123, according to a police report.
The vehicle nearly came to a complete stop to turn left at the intersection of East Avenue even though it had a green light and there was no traffic coming the other way, the report said.
During a subsequent stop, the officer detected signs of impairment, it said. The driver failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody, according to the report. She refused to submit to a test to establish her blood-alcohol level, it said.
Police additionally cited her for failure to drive right and improper turning.
The woman was released on $300 bond and scheduled to appear Dec. 5 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
