Police during a traffic stop near downtown on Saturday night cited three New Canaan teens for possession of alcohol by a minor.
At about 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 23, an officer stopped westbound vehicle that ran a stop sign at Seminary Street and Oenoke Lane, according to a police report.
During the stop, the officer saw cans of Natural Light beer in plain view on the rear passenger floor, the report said.
The three teens were 17-year-old passengers in the vehicle. Police withheld their names because of their ages.
They must pay a fine or plead to the infraction-level offenses.
