Kevin McGovern

Born on February 15, 1965, Kevin was raised in New Canaan, Connecticut, by his parents, James and Angela McGovern.

As a young man, Kevin enjoyed working alongside his father on his Arnold Bread route, which inspired the career he loved. In 1992, he purchased his own Snapple distribution route, beginning a career that brought him great pride and allowed him to build lasting relationships throughout the community.

Kevin was known for his outgoing personality, generous spirit, and genuine kindness. He had a remarkable ability to make friends wherever he went and treasured those friendships throughout his life. His customers became much more than customers—they became like family to him. Kevin also deeply appreciated the men who worked alongside him over the years. He cared about them, valued their hard work and friendship, and considered them an important part of his extended family.

Kevin is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 30 years, Patricia McGovern, and their four children: Seamus and his fiancée, Michelle; Caitlin and her husband, Nick; Kelly; and Erin. Nothing brought Kevin greater joy than being a devoted husband and a loving father.

He is also survived by his mother, Angela McGovern; his siblings, Thomas McGovern, Patricia Stappenbeck and her husband, Mark, and Sheila Molloy and her husband, Kevin; his father-in-law, Patrick Egan; his brother-in-law, Thomas Egan; and his sister-in-law, Tara Travers and her husband, Frank.

Kevin also leaves behind his cherished nieces and nephews: Grace McGovern; Jack, James, and Emma Stappenbeck; Caroline, Casey, and Clare Molloy; and Brendan, Sean, and Lauren Travers, all of whom he adored. He is also survived by many loving cousins and extended family, especially John Lydon and Bobby McGovern.

He was predeceased by his father, James McGovern, and his mother-in-law, Ann Egan.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Kevin’s life at a wake on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thomas M. Gallagher Funeral Home, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, Connecticut (203)-359-9999.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Wilton, Connecticut, followed by interment at Saint John’s Cemetery in Darien, Connecticut.
