Local motorists are advised that work crews this week will install the natural gas main line on Lakeview Avenue in the area of Millport Avenue between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. through Saturday, according to Eversource.
Additionally, individual gas services to homes on Woodland Road, Meadow Lane, Orchard Lane and Kelly Green will see traffic slowed down during those same hours through Thursday of this week, according to the utility company.
“Traffic flow will be maintained where possible,” according to a new update from Evesource, though “drivers may experience delays due to alternating one-way traffic” as well as “occasional lane closures.”
Gas services will be installed to homes along Old Stamford Road between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. through Friday, according to Eversource.
Later in the week, on Friday, a crew will install gas services on South Avenue during those same hours, while on Saturday, workers will install service to East School between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.
East will be the fourth local school hooked up to natural gas, with the high school, middle school and South School already connected.
To date, 133 homes have also connected to natural gas, according to Eversource.
In all, 10.4 miles of the main line have been installed, with just .5 miles left to go (to East School) for this phase of the project.
