On June 8, The Glass House hosted an exciting Summer Party celebrating the 75th anniversary of this historic site in New Canaan. It was a joyous occasion and an unforgettable success on a picture-perfect Connecticut day. We were thrilled to welcome almost 500 guests to our stunning campus, showing off the restored Brick House, and sharing the rich history and vibrant spirit of our site and the town. The feedback has been incredibly positive with many commenting that there were more new guests and more local residents than ever before.

The event would not have been possible without the support of the Town of New Canaan, the generosity of many local businesses, and the attendance of so many of our neighbors. Special thanks for logistical help and parking space to the Office of the Town Planner, the New Canaan Police Department, West School, the New Canaan Country School, and Camp Playland. New Canaan’s own Elm restaurant supplied the delicious picnic basket lunches. Refreshing beverages were supplied by Greenology and Litchfield Distillery and energized with Jack’s Coffee cold brew. The cookie bar by Drs. Orders Baking Co. was a sweet treat that perfectly complemented the fine art on display via Fine Art Frameworks. Beautiful flowers and succulants were supplied by Earth Garden and Modern Houseplant. And our special thanks to our local media sponsor New Canaan Darien Magazine.

We are deeply grateful to our generous sponsors, including MAX MARA, Aesop, Design Within Reach, and Land Rover Darien, whose invaluable support alongside our guests’ participation makes our work possible. This annual fundraising event, covering over 25 percent of our operating costs, is vital for the ongoing maintenance and preservation of this esteemed property. And we extend our deepest appreciation to our donors, artists, and supporters, whose contributions and enthusiasm greatly enhance our efforts. None of this would have been possible without the incredible work by The Glass House staff and volunteers who managed it all with ease and showed everyone a wonderful time while educating guests on architecture, art and historic preservation.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the success of this year’s Summer Party.

Sincerely,

Kirsten Reoch, Executive Director of The Glass House
