New Canaan Public Schools will be closed Tuesday, officials said, as the National Weather Service calls for another four to eight inches of snow starting after midnight.
New Canaan Library will open at 11 a.m., Town Hall at 10 a.m. (and the Board of Selectmen meeting will be held at that time), officials said.
New Canaan and the rest of the county are under a Winter Storm Warning from the weather service through 6 p.m. Tuesday, with “heavy snow” expected.
“Plan on difficult travel conditions, including during the morning commute,” the weather service said. “Be prepared for significant reductions in visibility at times. Tree branches could fall.”
The forecast comes as New Canaan slowly recovers from back-to-back winter storms that saw the public schools close for three straight days and hundreds of homes linger without power for longer.
The last day of school remains Friday, June 22, according to the district.
