Maura Bridget Gallagher died on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 in Stamford, Connecticut. She was born on May 11, 1978 and grew-up in Tannersville, New York. Maura was predeceased by her parents, Maureen (June 16, 1989) and Walter G. Gallagher (January 30, 2015).

She and her fiancé Max Di Dodo resided in New Canaan, Connecticut for the last four years.

Maura was a 1996 graduate of Hunter Tannersville Central High School and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Hunter College in Manhattan, where she resided for 11 years. In 2007, she moved to Darien, Connecticut and has lived in the area since.

She was employed as a client services specialist for RVI Group in Stamford for the last decade.

Maura was an avid skier, enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed weekends at her family’s Mountain Top home where she grew up.

Maura and Max welcomed two beautiful children, Thomas Walter and Lyla Maura into the world on Monday, May 8th. More than anything, Maura wanted to be a mother.

In addition to Max and her children, Maura is survived by her brother John P. Gallagher and his partner Sydney F. Frazier of Manhattan; her sister Erin O’Toole O’Rourke and her husband Dennis P. O’Rourke of Garden City, New York. She is also survived Max’s mother Mirtha of Rosario, Argentina; brothers Ariel (Carolina) of New Canaan; Sebastian (Gisel) of Rosario; and Hector of Majorca, Spain.

Maura is also survived by her much loved nieces and nephews, Sean, Bridget and Ryan O’Toole; Riley, Tierney and Finn O’Rourke; Luciana, Emilia, Matilda, Nicole, Santiago and Nicolas Di Dodo.

She is also survived by dozens of aunts, uncles and cousins and many good friends.

In addition to her parents, Maura is predeceased by her brother-in-law, John C. O’Toole (March 19, 2007).

Visitation will be held at the Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Boston Post Road, Darien, Connecticut on Monday, May 15, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. John R. C. Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 16, 2017.

A private burial will take place in Elka Park, NY at a later date.
