Annual Veterans Day Ceremony

The Howard M. Bossa and Peter C. Langenus Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 653 will be conducting the annual Veterans Day services at God’s Acre on Wednesday, November 11th starting at 10:55AM.
The speaker is Tyler Nash.
We are requiring all attendees to please wear a mask and social distance as we have plenty of room on the hill at God’s Acre.
The traditional coffee and donuts post services at Town Hall will be cancelled this year in light of DPH COVID regulations.
Here’s Nash’s bio:
Tyler Nash is a former U.S. Army Infantry Officer, raised in New York’s Hudson Valley Region in Pine Bush, NY. He graduated from Fordham University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, with concentrations in finance and sustainable business. He served almost 7 years in the military, primarily with the 75th Ranger Regiment and 10th Mountain division.
Tyler entered military service after receiving a full Army ROTC scholarship to Fordham University in 2008. He commissioned as a second lieutenant and was recognized as Fordham’s Distinguished Military Graduate in 2012. After completing the Infantry Basic Officer Leader Course and Ranger Training in Fort Benning, GA, Tyler was immediately assigned to the 10th Mountain Division and deployed to Eastern Afghanistan where he assumed responsibilities as a Platoon Leader. In 2014, upon successful completion of his initial roles, Tyler attended the Ranger Assessment and Selection Program and was selected for a special operations assignment to the 75th Ranger Regiment. During his time within the 75th Ranger Regiment, Tyler managed special operations airborne missions for the highest priority light infantry (airborne) unit in the Department of Defense. He also deployed a second time to Afghanistan to lead a highly regarded team within a Joint Special Operations Task Force in support of National Military Objectives. In 2017, Tyler’s final assignment was to the 1st Armored Division’s – 1st Stryker Brigade, where most notably, he represented an installation of over 33,000 as a participant in the 2018 David E. Grange, Jr. Best Ranger Competition. Tyler completed his service at the rank of Captain.
Over the course of his career, Tyler was awarded commendations for both Joint Service and service in the Army, as well as across two separate Afghanistan Campaigns. He has earned the Expert Infantryman Badge, Ranger Tab, Senior Parachutist Badge, Military Free Fall Badge, Air Assault Badge, and German Armed Forces Badge, among other certifications.
In civilian life, Tyler is an Associate Director at UBS Investment Bank within their Equity Capital Markets team, and specializes in permanent capital solutions. He currently resides with his wife (a former U.S. Army Nurse, and current nurse manager at Stamford Hospital) and son, in Darien, CT.
