“Drones and the National Security Landscape”

Wednesday, March, 2, 2016 @ 7:00 am - 9:00 am

$50.00

The public is invited to attend an Ambassadors’ Roundtable series breakfast presentation by Ben Lerner on “Drones and the National Security Landscape”. This event will take place at the Stamford Yacht Club on March 2, 2016.

“You don’t have to be one of the good guys to acquire drone technology. Hostile nation-states, as well as non-state actors such as terrorist organizations or drug cartels, are getting their hands on drones as well.” – Ben Lerner

Mr. Lerner is Vice President for Government Relations with the Center for Security Policy in Washington DC, where he manages the Center’s educational efforts and interactions with the federal government. Mr. Lerner also manages coalitions and projects addressing national security law, homeland security, nuclear deterrence, and American sovereignty, and is responsible for the researching and drafting of policy publications in these and other areas. His articles have appeared in Homeland Security Today, The American Spectator, The Washington Times, Townhall, and inFocus Quarterly, and he has been a guest lecturer at the U.S. Army War College, where he has discussed the legal/ethical issues surrounding the military’s use of unmanned systems.

Prior to joining the Center, Mr. Lerner served as counsel on energy, environment and homeland security issues in a government relations firm, held a senior government relations role with a foreign affairs advocacy organization, gained experience in both the House and Senate, and served as a senior adviser on a congressional campaign.

He holds a law degree from Georgetown University, and received his bachelor’s degree in political science, with highest distinction, from the University of Michigan.

The cost for the breakfast and presentation is free for AR series members, $30 for Forum members and $50 for the general public. The event will start at 7:00 a.m. with coffee and networking followed by a full breakfast buffet at 7:30 a.m. The presentation will begin at 8 a.m. and Mr. Lerner will take questions.
