October 19, 2024 – Grammy-nominated vocalist Ryland Angel, accompanied by St. Mark’s Director of Music Ministries, Ned Tipton, will present a recital titled Folk Songs through the ages, featuring songs of the great Scottish lyricist and poet Robert Burns (a sampling of his enormous output of over 550 songs and poems), Irish, English, French, and American folk song in arrangements of Benjamin Britten, and others – from the Middle Ages to our day. Additionally, Ryland will sing a short section of folk songs from the Southern Appalachian Region: a special collection will be received, designated for Episcopal Relief and Development, to aid those affected by the devastation left from hurricane Helene.
