Friday, November, 12, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
New Canaan Land Trust Executive Director Aaron Lefland describe the Trust’s more than 50-year history, its current programs and mission along with its ambitious plans for the future in remarks Friday at the New Canaan Men’s Club regular meeting.
The Men’s Club regularly meets Fridays at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 111 Oenoke Ridge, at 10 a.m. Speakers usually begin their presentations around 10:40 a.m.
In remarks titled: New Canaan Land Trust, Past, Present and Future, Lefland will discuss the important role land conservation plays in daily life and the ways that the land trust continues to protect and care for the town’s remaining open space.
After completing his Master of Forest Science at the Yale School of the Environment, Lefland joined the land trust in 2017. At Yale, Lefland published two peer reviewed papers on the sustainable management of New England forests.
Since joining the organization, Lefland has focused on growing the organization, both in size and its impact. To that end, the organization has bolstered its program offerings, built partnerships, increased staff and made the land trust’s preserves more accessible to the community.
The Men’s Club has openings for new members. Anyone wishing to get information about the club may email ncmens@ncmens.club.
