Waterstone senior living executive will speak to Men’s Club
For many seniors, the decision to downsize requires a raft of sometimes complex decisions. Friday, the New Canaan Men’s Club will hear from Wendy Kaufman, executive director of Waterstone Luxury Senior Living Community in Stamford, who will provide guidance and advice on senior living options and the considerations that go into making the decision to move into senior living facilities.
The Men’s Club meeting begins at 10 a.m. at 111 Oenoke Ridge. After the business portion of the programs, the meetings feature speakers covering a range of topics, ranging from history, to music and art, as well health and financial issues retirees face.
As its executive director, Waterstone says Kaufman’s overarching responsibility is to ensure residents have what they need to feel healthy, engaged and secure.
Kaufman, who has more than 25 years in the field, was named to her current position at Waterstone last December. Located at 215 High Ridge Road, Stamford, Waterstone has 146 residences with apartments ranging from one-bedroom and one-bedroom plus, to two-bedroom and two-bedroom plus. The 36 assisted living residences include studio, one-bedroom or two-bedroom apartments.
In addition to being a licensed nursing home administrator with a certificate from Quinnipiac University, Kaufman has completed several courses in management training and received a bachelor’s in economics from the University of Connecticut.
She has also served in a number of management, sales and marketing distinctions serving seniors. She is affiliated with the Senior Provider Network of Greenwich; Partners in Elderly Services of Stamford; the Alzheimer’s Association of Connecticut; and is a member of the Stamford/Norwalk Chamber of Commerce and the Kiwanis Club of Wilton.
