New Canaan Library presents Virtual Reality Today: Learning by Doing

The concept of virtual reality is gaining popularity in areas other than the traditional fields of employment training or the military. New Canaan Library is pleased to host an informative talk on the subject, presented by Matthew Wallace, CEO of VRSim of East Hartford, Connecticut. The talk takes place on Sunday, January 21 at 2 p.m. in the Adrian Lamb Room. Please register online at newcanaanlibrary.org.
Wallace will explain the concept of virtual reality, and delve into the uses of VR simulation technology as a teaching tool. He will discuss how VR can augment traditional educational methods of teaching and allow modern learners to explore careers they may not be exposed to in a traditional classroom. He will also discuss and demonstrate how VR can assist in shaping the workforce of tomorrow in a cost-effective, safe, and environmentally friendly way.
Matthew Wallace is the CEO of VRSim, Inc. located in East Hartford, Connecticut. VRSim are the creators of virtual reality, interactive simulations for skilled trades training markets. Matthew and his team create virtual reality training systems; he has spoken internationally on the topic of virtual reality and simulation. Matthew is a graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington (BA), Vanderbilt University (MA), Walter F. George School of Law, and Mercer University (JD).
