FreeThe holiday season is upon us. Along with the happy times and gatherings comes a unique set of challenges – both physical and emotional ones. New Canaan Library welcomes back nutritionist/dietitian Jay Wolkoff, who will discuss how integrative and natural strategies can boost immunities and calm emotions, resulting in happier holidays and less stress. The talk takes place on Sunday, December 15 at 2 p.m. in the Adrian Lamb Room. Please register online at newcanaanlibrary.org.
During the holiday season one’s emotions can be overtaxed through demanding expectations and family dynamics, which adds a new layer of stress to our lives. At gatherings there is the pressure to overindulge in foods that are bodies struggle to fully utilize and digest. Combined with shorter days, cooler weather, and the stresses of the cold and flu season, anyone can become quite overwhelmed. Fortunately, there are natural choices to support one’s resiliency and make it easier to fully enjoy the season. Jay Wolkoff will discuss using foods, herbs, and lifestyle strategies to cope with emotional stress, support healthy digestion, keep our immune systems resilient and our bodies feeling warm.
