Scientists use a wide range of tools to learn new and exciting things about how the world works. The scientific toolbox is not just limited to microscopes and beakers – it includes everything from tiny atoms to patterns of large-scale bird migration. Scientists can even use tools developed by the cells that make up our bodies. This is a great opportunity to learn how scientists use these novel tools to better understand time, human disease, and the environment.
Yale Science Diplomats is a group of graduate students and postdoctoral individuals passionate about science communication, education, and advocacy. They deliver talks on current topics in science, ranging from the microbiome to the feasibility of a real-life Jurassic Park. Their goal is to make science fun and accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds. and provide people with a better understanding of the science underpinning many of the complex issues in the news every day.
