Police cited two nonresidents for pot possession around midnight Thursday following separate traffic stops in town.
At about 11:47 p.m. on Feb. 8, an officer on patrol stopped a vehicle on Park Street that was displaying an unregistered license plate, according to a police report. The officer spotted a bag of pot in plain view, and later found marijuana on the driver, a 33-year-old Stratford man.
He was issued infraction summonses for possession of marijuana operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
At 12 a.m. on Feb. 9, an officer saw a vehicle cross the double-yellow line on South Avenue to pass another, a police report said.
Approaching the vehicle during a subsequent stop, the officer smelled marijuana and then found some inside a purse belonging to a passenger, it said.
The 21-year-old woman was cited for possession of less than .5 ounces of marijuana.
