Police arrested a 21-year-old Indian Waters Drive woman before dawn Sunday after finding her passed out behind the wheel of a running motor vehicle parked across town.
At about 2:36 a.m. on Oct. 25, police were dispatched to an Old Kings Highway home on a report of a suspicious red vehicle parked near the end of the driveway.
There, officers found the woman curled up in the fetal position in the front seat of the vehicle, which was in park, according to a police report.
They woke her up and smelled alcohol on her breath and body, the report said. The woman was instructed to leave the car, and then failed field sobriety tests, the report said. A breath test also revealed that her blood-alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit.
Police charged the woman with driving under the influence.
She was released on $260 bond and scheduled to appear Nov. 5 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
