The New Canaan Building Department last month issued a permit for a 2,757-square-foot home on Forest St.
The six-bedroom house planned for 80 Forest St. will include three full bathrooms, two half-baths, a two-bay garage and unfinished attic and basement, according to the permit, issued Sept. 12.
It will cost $750,000 to build, the permit said.
The contractor on the job is property owner Peter Palladino, the architect David W. Coffin of Bedford Hills, N.Y.
The .37-acre property, with its 1850-built single-family home, was purchased in 2015 for $450,000, tax records show.
The town issued a demolition permit for the structure in May, the records show.
Tonight is the public hearing for the POCD. Protections for antiques? Financial incentives to renovate? If you want the POCD to address the demolition of homes built in 1850 then show up and be heard.
