The town last week received an application to build a 6,240-square-foot home on a 1.55-acre Cedar Lane lot.
The property at 258 Cedar Lane is in the 2-acre zone and it sold for $850,000 in June, tax records show.
Its new owner—a limited liability company controlled by two Jericho, N.Y. residents, according to Connecticut Secretary of the State records—in July obtained a permit to demolish the 1954-built split-level ranch that had stood there.
The new home will more than double the size of the old one.
It will include six bedrooms, five full bathrooms, two half-baths, five fireplaces and a 3-car garage, according to the building permit application, filed Aug. 11 with the New Canaan Building Department.
The new construction is to be built by Jericho, N.Y.-based Woodcrest Homes LLC, a company owned by the same people that acquired the Cedar Lane property.
