The New Canaan Building Department on Aug. 27 received applications to replace a pair of duplexes on Old Stamford Road with new two-family homes.
The four new dwellings at 16 and 22 Old Stamford Road each will have five bedrooms, four full bathrooms and one half-bath, according to the building permit applications.
At 4,100 square feet, the new duplexes will have more square footage as the 1964-built structures they would replace (2,300). They’ll each have a 1,200-square-foot finished attic and basement and the individual units within each will be adjoined at the garage, the applications said (each unit will have one garage).
Each new two-family dwelling will cost about $1.5 million to build, the applications said.
The contractor and architect is Antony Tomas Builders of Norwalk. Each property was purchased in April for $1.5 million, tax records show. The new owner is a limited liability company whose principals include the contractor, Connecticut Secretary of the State records show.
