The New Canaan Building Department last month received an application to build a 4,200-square-foot home on Orchard Lane.
The six-bedroom house planned for 19 Orchard Lane will include six full bathrooms, one half-bath, one fireplace and a two-bay garage, according to the building permit application filed Nov. 7. It will include a 1,352-square-foot finished basement and 781-square-foot finished attic, the application said.
The house will cost about $850,000 to build, it said.
The contractor on the job is Lecher Development LLC, the architect Steven Lecher Associates LLC, both of New Canaan.
The town in October issued a permit to demolish the 1949-built Cape on the .4-acre property. It sold for $1,675,000 in August, tax records show. It’s owned by a limited liability company whose managing principal is a New Canaan resident, according to Connecticut Secretary of the State records.
