The New Canaan Building Department last week issued a permit for a 5,000-square-foot house on Richmond Hill Road.
The six-bedroom home planned for 20 Richmond Hill Road will include six full bathrooms, three half-baths, three fireplaces and an attached three-car garage, according to a permit issued Sept. 24.
It will cost $1.1 million to build, the application said.
The contractor on the job is CT Real Estate Ventures LLC, the architect AWA Design Group, both of Stamford.
The .22-acre lot includes an 1890-built, four-bedroom home, according to tax records. The property’s owners have applied for a demolition permit but it hasn’t been issued yet, according to municipal building records.
It was purchased in December for $1,550,000, tax records show. The new owner is a limited liability company whose managing principal is listed in Connecticut Secretary of the State records as another LLC. That LLC’s principal is listed as a Stamford realtor, the records show.
The four structures on the property have all been knocked down. They started the demo in mid-September (Note: I used to live at this address).
Are there any laws for the size of a building on small lots? Are there any regulations for size or height??? I’d hate another VUE in our town. If we could keep things 3 stories or under we could keep a town feel as opposed to the city they’re turning Darien into.
