Ellsworth has been New Canaan’s top finisher in all but 4 of the Rams’ 18 dual cross country meets this season. The senior co-captain also led the Rams at the Wilton and Brewster Invites where the team placed first and second, respectively.

Called “an exemplary leader and a good role model for our younger athletes” by head coach Bill Martin, Ellsworth’s success has helped the Rams to a 14-4 record, good for second place in the FCIAC East Division. Ellsworth should be at the head of the pack as New Canaan gears up for the FCIAC Championships, which will be held at Waveny on Thursday, October 16th.

There have been many standout performances on head coach David Fine’s girls swimming team, but one athlete has stood out from the rest. On Tuesday senior co-captain Kylie Towbin broke her own school diving record, scoring a 263 against arch-rival Darien, in what Fine called “the biggest meet of the year” thus far. Fine added that Towbin’s score – 4 points higher than her old mark – was of All-American caliber.
The Rams are 5-1 on the season and in prime position to make a splash in the FCIAC’s, seeking their first conference title since 2011.
