Scott Raymond Fairty passed away on June 24th, 2022 in his home in Lansing, MI after a short and bravely fought battle with melanoma. His final days were spent surrounded by family and full of love.

Scott was born on June 27th, 1961, to Jack and Lee Fairty of New Canaan, CT. He was just three days shy of his 61st birthday when he passed. He grew up in Connecticut, where he met his wife Fiona. They married in Ireland in 1983 and had three children; Gordon (Shelby), Caitlin, and Tara (Jacob).
Scott spent his career in paddlesports, but his passion for the outdoors steeped into his personal life. He inspired a love of nature in his children as well as in the lives of those around him. He had a heart for service, and his time spent in Burma working with Christian refugees had a lasting impact on his life. To many, he was a man of few words, but his big heart made fast friends of everyone he met. His heart and humor will be greatly missed.
Scott is survived by his wife, Fiona, his children, his parents, and his three brothers, David, John & Jay
There will be a burial at Lakeview Cemetery in New Canaan on Sept 10th 2022 at 10 AM, followed by a gathering of friends & family at the Greenwich Audubon Center 613 Riversville Rd, Greenwich, CT 06831
