Country Club Road Home Sells for $2,820,000; Demo, New Construction Planned for Strawberry Hill Avenue

An application has come into the town to replace a 100-year-old multi-family dwelling up on Strawberry Hill Road with a new 5-bedroom home. The 1914 house at 29 Strawberry Hill Road sits on .83 acres and was purchased in February 2013 for $486,000, tax records show. Owner Imperial Real Estate Holdings LLC (a company owned by two Rye, N.Y. residnts) is building a new home for about $550,000. According to an application filed Thursday with the New Canaan Building Department, the new home will include four bathrooms, kitchen, family room, dining room, office, 2-car garage, unfinished attic and basement.

Century-Old Parade Hill Road Home Coming Down

A 100-year-old, single-story ranch on Parade Hill Road is slated for demolition and its owner has applied to construct a new home there that will more than double its living space. The red house at 119 Parade Hill Road—just past the turn as you come up the hill toward Oenoke Ridge—sits on .17 acres, according to tax records. It includes 625 square feet of living space (all in one room) among its approximately 1,450 total gross square feet. There’s an unfinished basement of the same dimensions. Purchased seven years ago for $460,000, it last was assessed at $357,000, according to the New Canaan Assessor’s office.
