Embody Opens Second New Canaan Location Inside Oxygen Fitness

More than one year after opening its New Canaan store on Forest Street, Embody Fitness Gourmet is launching a second “satellite” location inside a hugely popular boutique wellness and fitness facility across town. At the new location at Oxygen Fitness on Pine Street, Embody will sell its signature protein shakes and juices, as well as a “good selection” of gourmet salads and snacks, according to founder and owner Gillen Bryan. “We know Oxygen has a great reputation and certainly a lot of the members and instructors had already come to us, so when we talked to [Oxygen Fitness owners] David and Sara [Koch] about taking over to provide a great offering at Oxygen, it wasn’t really a tough decision,” Bryan said. The public will be able to access the Oxygen Fitness store directly inside the Pine Street facility’s main doors, with a soft opening this week and a Grand Opening later in the month, he said. Sara Koch said the introduction of Embody at Oxygen’s expanding “fitness campus” was designed to bring more options to members and others.

Embody Fitness Gourmet Opens for Business on Forest Street

As builders are putting the finishing touches on Heritage Square, the new mixed retail-residential building on Forest Street, the complex’s first street-level merchant has opened its doors. Embody Fitness Gourmet welcomed its first customers last Thursday, kicking off a soft-opening “pre-launch” campaign. The Forest Street outpost is Embody owner Gillen Bryan’s third location and also the biggest, featuring plenty of seating and space where clientele can stay and enjoy the cafe’s quick-service, health-oriented cuisine. “The buildout was phenomenal,” Bryan told NewCanaanite.com. “Working with our property developer Christopher Gatto was an awesome experience and we really worked together build out a fantastic space to really enhance the customer experience.

Healthy Foods Provider Embody To Open on Forest Street

A provider of on-the-go high-protein blends, organic juices, salads, granola, entrees and more is preparing to open this spring in the new retail-and-residential development on Forest Street. Embody was established eight years ago in Darien and owner Gillen Bryan said company officials have been “keeping our eye out for space in New Canaan for a while.”

“We are over-the-moon excited” about opening in Heritage Square on Forest Street, Bryan said. “We will have immediate brand recognition because we already have several people in New Canaan that know us from Equinox in Darien. We’ll bring the Embody experience with our menu that is really designed around fitness and health and performance. We’d like to be able to become a go-to destination for people who live a healthy and fit lifestyle or somebody who wants to make a healthy choice that day.”

Embody will split 33 parking spots at Heritage Square with a second retail provider on the street level, Bryan said, and the first four spots next to the store will be reserved for the healthy food provider’s customers.
