New Canaan Police Department Hires Two New Officers

The New Canaan Police Department is poised this week to add two new officers to its ranks. Juan Carlos Jerez, 33, and Autumn L. Sanborn, 25, will be sworn in at 11 a.m. Friday at Town Hall. Jerez started his career in law enforcement with NYPD and worked most recently as a police officer for the San Jose Police Department, according to a press release issued by NCPD. He graduated from Richard R. Green High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from John Jay College.
Sanborn, who is from Milford, worked most recently as a general manager for Vive Fitness. She graduated from Point Pleasant Borough High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in national security from the University of New Haven.
“Both candidates participated in the winter 2023 recruitment process for Police Officer with the New Canaan Police Department,” the press release said.
