New Canaan High School Students Honored at Annual Recognition Assembly

Hundreds of parents and students gathered in the auditorium at New Canaan High School for the NCHS Recognition Assembly on Friday morning. Emceed by Assistant Principal Ari Rothman, the awards ceremony recognized seniors and juniors at the high school. What follows is a list of those honored, with a brief description of the specific awards given, where available—congratulations to all. Overall Achievement Awards
National Merit Finalist—Each year more than a million high school students participate in the National Merit Scholarship testing program. Of this group, only one-half of 1 percent in each state is recognized as “National Merit Finalists,” a designation that comes only as a result of a record of distinguished achievement and a high potential for continued academic accomplishment.
