Police Arrest New Canaan Girl, 15, for Threatening Instagram Post on Christmas Day

Police on Friday arrested a 15-year-old New Canaan girl for sending a threatening message through social media to a 14-year-old girl on Christmas Day. Sgt. Carol Ogrinc of the New Canaan Police Department called the Instagram post a “hateful, harmful” message that included language describing the “torture” and mutilation of the younger girl’s “lifeless body.”

The victim, a St. Luke’s School student, officials say, came to police with her father on Dec. 26 to report the Instagram post.
