Police on Monday arrested a 31-year-old Norwalk man and charged him with second-degree threatening.
On Aug. 4, officers were dispatched to the lobby at police headquarters on a report of a domestic issue on Millport Avenue between the man and another party, officials said.
As a result of an investigation, police obtained an arrest warrant on the misdemeanor charge.
It isn’t clear whether or how the man is related to the victim or how he threatened that person. Police withheld details, saying it’s a domestic matter.
Under state law, a person is guilty of second-degree threatening if he or she “by physical threat … intentionally places or attempts to place another person in fear of imminent serious physical injury” or “threatens to commit any crime of violence with the intent to terrorize another person,” among other reasons. Doing that in certain settings, such as houses of worship, daycares or schools, is a felony.
The man surrendered himself to police at about 5:30 a.m. on Aug. 16. He was held on $10,000 bond and scheduled to appear the same day in state Superior Court.
