Police arrested a 57-year-old New Canaan man by warrant Monday and charged him with second-degree threatening and two counts of risk of injury to a child, a felony offense.
He was charged following a domestic incident reported Aug. 22 to New Canaan Police, officials said.
It’s unclear how the man threatened, who the victims are or whether he’s related to them. Police withheld details, saying it’s a domestic matter. The man is a Maple Street resident, police said.
Under state law, a person is guilty of second-degree threatening if he or she “by physical threat … intentionally places or attempts to place another person in fear of imminent serious physical injury.”
The man was released on $20,000 bond and scheduled to appear Aug. 29 in state Superior Court.
