Auto enthusiasts and grassroots New Canaan event Caffeine & Carburetors makes its Waveny debut from 8 to 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 19. Caffeine & Carburetors is the brainchild of town resident Doug Zumbach, owner of Zumbach's Gourmet Coffee on Pine Street. Wildlife in Crisis and New Canaan Community Foundation Sponsor Owl Release
This was a very difficult winter for wildlife in Connecticut. Wildlife in Crisis, a wildlife hospital in Weston, nurtured hundreds of starving and injured birds like this great-horned owl during recent months. For the past 5 years, Wildlife in Crisis has partnered with New Canaan Community Foundation to give debilitated wildlife a second chance. Outdoor Movie Night at Waveny: ‘Zootopia’
A Summer Outdoor Movie Event is scheduled for Friday night July 15th. It’s a free town event. Developed in partnership with the Recreation Department, the community is invited to watch the movie 'Zootopia' on a 26-foot inflatable screen. The movie will start at sundown (about 8:30 p.m.) and will be held on the great lawn at Waveny outside the Waveny House. New Canaan Hosts Area Punt-Pass and Kick Competition
The NFL Punt Pass and Kick Competition will be held in New Canaan at the Water Tower Field in Waveny Park, on Friday August 19th at 2:00 pm sharp. The event is free to all area players. Boys and girls in five separate age divisions (6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, and 14-15) compete against each other in punting, passing and place kicking in a fun and engaging forum.
