Police late Thursday arrested a 19-year-old Stamford man and charged him with driving under the influence.
At about 10 p.m. on April 22, officers were dispatched to the area of Old Stamford Road near the Merritt Parkway on a report of a erratic driver, police said.
There, the officers found the vehicle, and saw it swerving over the double yellow centerline and within the travel lane, according to a police report.
In speaking with the man during a subsequent stop, they detected signs of impairment, the report said.
After administering field sobriety tests, police took him into custody and transported him for processing on the misdemeanor charge, it said.
He refused to provide a sample to establish his blood-alcohol level, police said.
He additionally was charged with failure to drive right and operating a motor vehicle without a license.
Police released the man on $250 bond and scheduled him to appear May 31 in state Superior Court.
