The New Canaan Men’s Club will hear about the importance of maintaining dental health especially as people age in remarks by Dr. Alan Sheiner, DDS, Friday at the New Canaan Men’s Club meeting in Morrill Hall at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 111 Oenoke Ridge.
The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. with Dr. Sheiner beginning his remarks at about 10:40, after the business portion of the meeting. Dr. Sheiner’s talk, Common Dental Issues and Management, will cover issues related to tooth loss, toothache, gum disease, crowns or bridges and other related concerns. He’ll explain why regular dental visits are crucial for the early detection and management of oral care.
In practice with an office in New York City, Dr. Sheiner is also chief of Prosthodontic Dentistry at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He also served as clinical assistant professor at the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine.
Prosthodontics is the dental specialty relating to the diagnosis, treatment, planning, rehabilitation and maintenance of oral function relating to missing or deficient teeth and oral tissues. This includes cosmetic restoration and replacement of teeth.
