A New Norwalk Road family reported an apparent break-in and burglary at their home last week, with more than $10,000 in electronics and jewelry stolen.
A 17-year-old who resides that home came home last Wednesday afternoon to find a front door forced open—police are putting the window for the crime somewhere between 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 3.
Missing items include two TVs, a 36-inch ($175) and 52-inch ($700), two jewelry boxes with miscellaneous jewelry in them, worth about $3,000 together, black Nikon camera ($2,000), Xbox 360 console ($350), about 10 xbox games ($600), $120 cash from a safe, Go Pro Hero II action mount ($350), iPad $250, four rings worth $1,100 and assorted earrings, necklaces and bracelets worth $2,000 together.
Police are investigating.

New Canaan police are investigating the reported theft of nearly $15,000 in landscaping equipment from a Carter Street construction site.
Some time in the two weeks prior to Dec. 2, an entry chain to the site had been cut and the following items stolen, according to a police report: walk-behind leaf blower ($1,696), 51-inch Skag lawnmower ($7,080), weed whacker ($371), gray 2001 Feather-Lite trailer ($2,968), backpack blower ($1,248) and set of lawnmower ramps ($350).
A 55-year-old New Canaan man who from the company whose equipment was taken reported the theft to police at about 9:50 a.m. on Dec. 2.

The occupants of a condominium complex on Heritage Hill Road told police that a $2,000 oil burner went missing from the basement of one of their buildings. A 45-year-old woman who lives there and learned of the apparent theft at an association meeting reported it to police at 3:34 p.m. on Dec. 5, according to a police report.
